Don't buy this toyJanuary 7, 2008 I bought this toy shortly after Christmas and it looked good in the package, but don't let this fool you. It broke two days later, the "auto morph" tech. got twisted all wrong (and I couldn't fix it). Plus, the nubs keeping the shoulders from swinging around started to snap. If Hasbro want's to make some money, they should put some time and quality into their toys, and not only their transformers too. Whatever you do don't buy this toy.
This was Santa's gift to our son, and it broke the first dayDecember 31, 2007 We are so disappointed with this toy. Our son wrote to Santa and asked for this, after seeing the movie, and it broke on Christmas Day. The plastic is very brittle, with tiny parts that snap off, when the toy is "transformed."
How do you tell an 8 year old that Santa's elves made a cheap toy?

Blackout & Scorponox comboDecember 6, 2007 My 7 year old wanted Blackout hands down to Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, and even the elusive Megatron! We went to several stores and could not find him ANYWHERE! We found him on amazon and it said there would be a 6-8 week shipping date...however he arrived just 3 and 1/2 weeks later and it has been the hit of the Transformers phase. He is a little delicate for a TOY! But my son loves putting him back together over and over again (his father and I are not as enthusiastic at the 8,349 time)
They mold these to the movie right??????????November 10, 2007 I have been a transformers fan since the day I could transform little Beetle Bumblebee and absolutly loved the live action movie. I am very disapointed in the whole line of movie voyager action figures aside from Jazz. The Blackout figure looks great as a chopper but the comes the interesting part of transforming it, half the parts don't bend the right way then when your finished it doesn't represent what you thought you were set out to find. If I had children I wouldn't buy them this toy, it is more for collecting then playing. I would personally go to ebay and spend the time and money to get a real transformer gen 1 or 2 then buy from this set again. Very complex for a 4-5 year old, I would loose interest if I was 10-12 because it takes so long to transform. Not impressed at all.

I am a Huge fan of all things transformers, not just generation 1, I like all the different takes on it, including the movie. My favorite from the other takes on the story has been starscream, but I'd say Blackout easily topped him in the movie for me, especially in light of starscream's weird almost goofy redesign for the film. Blackout was totally the first I aimed to get although I'd like to eventually have all the decepticons. I was excited last night when I actually went ahead and got him, though I was a little disappointed with what I ended up getting.
I of course have to first pull it out of the impossible twist-ties [with no scissors cause I'm too impatient to wait till I get home]. Then I load in the little scorponok plastic thing which is totally useless and leaves a giant gap in the back when he's not there, plus he's set on a little plastic tray held by a tiny plastic tab that can be released by a button, or by simple touching it since the hold on the tab is pathetic. I put one of the little rubber bands it's packed with back over it, I don't plan to ever take it off, I could have done without that feature. then I try out the little spinning rotor gimmick, which would be cool if the rotors kept freely moving rather then stopping dead every time you release the lever for a second to let it retract again. then I figure alright lets transform it, that at least should be good. I'll say it definitly looks nice in both robot and helicopter modes, he stands up well with help of the tail on his back, but transformation was not that fun. first of all you might as well just take the top/back chunk off entirely until he's done transforming, to get the rotors out of the way. Then as you transform you'll come across a new "Automorph Tecnology" which is just another stupid gimmick that does'nt even work. when you pull [what will be his back] down the head is on a spring that should automatically pop-up, it kinda does but needs some manual help, be careful though not to displace the plastic gear teeth that control this function or his head will refuse to go back into hiding when you transform back. It took me a half an hour to get his head to quit popping back around >.< Again he looks great in both modes but not quite like his movie version, then again in the movie several little panels quickly disappear into nowhere, pretty hard to recreate in plastic. Especially a tiny little $20 plastic thing. I'm not about to complain about what they changed in the story since G1, but the quality of the toys is really downhill, perhaps more complex now, but also really flimsy, relying on plastic tabs, I wouldn't mind seeing a "Masterpiece" metal/thick plastic Version of all the movie characters to SCALE, blackout is huge and should NOT be the same size as the deluxe scorponok which is supposed to be about as big as the worthless little one that came with him. If he were to scale they may have been able to add complexity that was a little more sturdy and reliable. I still say If you Loved Blackout, This is the only version so far so he was worth it to me, I just hope for a more "deluxe" version some time.

Video Review of City Commander Upgrade Resident Transformer reviewer Peaugh has posted a nice, detailed review of the recently released City Commander upgrade set created for the Classics Universe Ultra Magnus figure.
The video goes in the great step by step detail on how to convert and attach the new addition along with nice video angles showing off the impressive attachments.
The images show both robot and vehicle mode (Earth Helicopter). The image of the robot mode shows that Megatron has decent articulation, but unlike the Leader Class version, his cannon cannot be attached to his forearm.

Seibertron.com Reviews Soon To Be Released Glu Mobile 'Tranformers: G1 Awakening' Game Thanks to staff member Stormrider, I was given the chance to make contact with a member of Glu mobile;#x2019;s PR staff, and was able to play a demo of the soon to be released ;#x2018;Transformers: G1 Awakening;#x2019; game for cellular phones. Glu Mobile was very kind and even sent me a compatible phone loaded with the game to play, as they do not currently have a version available for the iPhone.
I was able to spend about a week with the game, wasting many precious hours, staying up until the wee early hours of the morning as I played the addicting game, and tried to experience as much of it as I could before I had to send the demo back....
First off we have Stealth, err, Goldbug... I mean ELITE GUARD BUMBLEBEE by Tamo536. Straight up repaint of the Original Animated Bumblebee, but according to the reviewer the 'stingers' are now able to better fit into the arms...
And also a huge picture montage courtesy of the Japanese Transformers Image Board showing Sentinel in package, with other Elite Guard members, and with the Headmaster unit firmly placed on his shoulders.
Everybody should want to get Sentinel as soon as they can...

Video Review: McDonalds TFA Optimus Prime Resident Transformers video review master Sean Long has done it again. This time, Sean reviews the upcoming Mc Donald's Happy Meal bonus figure, Transformers Animated Optimus Prime. Sean gives us a good look at the figure, with comparison shots of it next to Movie Legends Optimus Prime, TFA Bumblebee, and TFA Deluxe Battle begins Optimus Prime.
This figure appears to be leaps and bounds better than previous Mc Donald's figures that were available in the past.

New pics and a mini review of Transcanning BB by FatGuy Fatguy has updated his blog with new pics of his recently acquired Transcanning Bumblebee figure. Pics so BB in all modes including, Protoform, Robot and car modes. FatGuy says BB has great poseability, as does Transcanning OP previously mentioned here, and that Robot and Car modes look great.

Video Reviews - Universe Classics 2.0 Tankor & Animated Activator Starscream Sean Long has provided an in depth video review of Universe/ Classics 2.0 Tankor. Triple Changer Tankor (ahem...Octane) is a Deluxe figure and features two alternate modes - a military plane and refueling truck. He will be issued in colors that are similar to his G1 figure.

Transformers the Game sells 3.3 Million Nest-gen.biz reports that among the top 100 selling games of the past 12 months, Transformers the Game by Activision, ranks in at 16th overall with sales a 3.3 million copies to date.
Transformers the game is narrowly beaten by Spiderman 3, which was also made by Activision, with 3.4 million sales, WWE Smackdown VS Raw 2008 at 3.8 million and the number one selling game Call of Duty 4 at 8.4 million copies.
