frustrating!!!July 15, 2007 11 out of 20 found this review helpful
My son is 8 and this toy is bringing him to tears. He wants so bad to transform it and neither I nor his father can figure out the tiny graphics on the instructions. They should change the age rating on this toy or make better instructions. We have him partially transformed now and am putting a call into his engineer uncle to see if he can figure it out. My son is a whiz at lego instructions and other complex instructional toys so this is a big bummer for us and we are dissapointed!Buyer Beware!!
Possibly the worst Transformer everJuly 9, 2007 45 out of 54 found this review helpful
Ok, maybe I'm being a little over-zealous calling it the "worst," but it's probably the biggest let down. I've been pretty skeptical about him but I found him on sale and jumped on it. I like having him to go beside my movie Optimus Prime, but I kinda wished I hung on to my money. My list of complaints is pretty long.
1. The paint application and plastics are cheap looking. On the box he's got these great metallic colors, but the toy is a stock, plain gray with a few light, dull, paint applications.
2. The alternate mode is just so flimsy and confusing. It took me forever to position the legs properly and I still had to force them into place a bit. And the arms are just kind of hanging limply. The instructions are so vague sometimes you're better off looking at the photos on the box to figure it out for yourself.
3. I really get the feeling that they took full advantage of the fact that Megatron had very little screen time and when he was on screen it was so hectic and quick, because it definitely feels like they took some big liberties with his appearance. One of my biggest complaints about his appearance: his face. On the box they depict his face in battle mode; it's much more menacing and makes more sense in his alternate mode. His regular face isn't very detailed and in alternate mode it looks awkward because there's this weird little face peaking out.
4. It feels like he's always about to break. His joints and some of the locking tabs are so strong you feel like you're going to break him or rip him apart trying to transform him. Other things are just so flimsy, especially in his arms.
5. The extra features are so lamely executed. His "rocket claw" seems to be built to fire out, but it doesn't. When you hit the tab his hand just falls out (if it's facing down). And to put away the whip, you have to open up the giant compartment on his arm. And his arms are supposed to combine to create a cannon. They don't "combine" as much as one goes next to the other and one arm has a cannon.
Overall, it was pretty lame.
All Hail MegatronJuly 8, 2007 2 out of 10 found this review helpful
Not much to say as I am a collector and he stays in the package unopened, but he is awesome looking and extremely detailed and would make a fine addition to any transformers fan or collector left in the box to display as the front window ids clear to see megatron top to bottom, or opened for display or to play with.
WOW Hasbro did it againJuly 5, 2007 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
this is a great megatron toy he looks like a mutated version between his engeron and cybertron forms but i would recomend this toy for any G1 transformers fan this toy was so easy to transform from robot to alt move WOW
More than meets the eyeJune 21, 2007 Yes, cliche but it's quite true - this Megatron has really grown on me! the legs are a little tricky to position just right when transforming to alt mode, but after a few tries it'll be a breeze. The design looks much more solid and menacing than the mediocre Voyager Megatron, it looks cool just standing there. I wouldn't recommend it for children under 8, unless you know your child to be a real wiz or you don't mind them coming up to you every 15 minutes and asking you to transform it.
BTW, there was a factory error in production, the spring that is meant to fire his whipping claw was placed in the opposite arm, which stops his fusion cannon from remaining deployed. All you need to do is remove a few screws and take each arm apart, replace the tiny spring in the whipping claw arm with the larger fusion cannon arm spring (you can just discard the smaller spring), screw them back together and it will work exactly as it was intended. It's a sad flaw, but try it out!

Video Review of City Commander Upgrade Resident Transformer reviewer Peaugh has posted a nice, detailed review of the recently released City Commander upgrade set created for the Classics Universe Ultra Magnus figure.
The video goes in the great step by step detail on how to convert and attach the new addition along with nice video angles showing off the impressive attachments.
The images show both robot and vehicle mode (Earth Helicopter). The image of the robot mode shows that Megatron has decent articulation, but unlike the Leader Class version, his cannon cannot be attached to his forearm.

Seibertron.com Reviews Soon To Be Released Glu Mobile 'Tranformers: G1 Awakening' Game Thanks to staff member Stormrider, I was given the chance to make contact with a member of Glu mobile;#x2019;s PR staff, and was able to play a demo of the soon to be released ;#x2018;Transformers: G1 Awakening;#x2019; game for cellular phones. Glu Mobile was very kind and even sent me a compatible phone loaded with the game to play, as they do not currently have a version available for the iPhone.
I was able to spend about a week with the game, wasting many precious hours, staying up until the wee early hours of the morning as I played the addicting game, and tried to experience as much of it as I could before I had to send the demo back....
First off we have Stealth, err, Goldbug... I mean ELITE GUARD BUMBLEBEE by Tamo536. Straight up repaint of the Original Animated Bumblebee, but according to the reviewer the 'stingers' are now able to better fit into the arms...
And also a huge picture montage courtesy of the Japanese Transformers Image Board showing Sentinel in package, with other Elite Guard members, and with the Headmaster unit firmly placed on his shoulders.
Everybody should want to get Sentinel as soon as they can...
