Just Too CoolAugust 19, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I was a kid there was only 1 thing you asked Santa for Christmas: Transformers! Now I'm married, have a career, and should act like an adult. I just can't deny how cool this toy is. It looks like a tank. Transform it, which is hard enough to get some laughs and easy enough for a 10 year old, and it looks like one of the coolest robots I've ever seen. Be careful with the tank treads that go around the head: Hasbro thought of a cool idea to get several pieces to move at the same time during the transforming process, making it more like they are in the movies, but it's also more fragile. For this price, just get it.
NOT BAD....August 9, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
this is my 5th transformer. i really like the vehicle mode it looks very nice. but the robot mode...well....the robot mode looks good but the arm thing really sucks. the robot cant stand still with his arms in the right position. if anyone is lookimg for Brawl. get the big one is way better and has more detallig.
Good for Transformer vets and patient newcomersAugust 5, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Brawls seems fairly durable and does look menacing. However, the recommended ages from Hasbro and Amazon should not be taken seriously. Any kid under 7 or 8 will have a very difficult ranging into impossible time transforming Brawls, and since his ability to transform is a big part of his value, keep that in consideration. A Transformer savvy adult, with the instructions, can transform Brawls for the first time in say 10-15 minutes, and get down to 3-6 minutes depending on one's dexterity. With tons of practice and Chopin-like fingers you could probably do it in two, and impress the ladies. For kids, the initial times are much longer and really depend on age and development, and parents should expect to help out, especially with those first couple transformations.
In robot mode, Brawls can stand up without tipping over, though consistently getting him to stand takes a little practice. Previous experience with Transformers and other action figures is a big plus. The fact that his tank treads can act as secondary leg supports in robot mode allows a couple more poses/balancing schemes than there otherwise would be. As a tank he cuts a mean profile and its easy for the imaginative to forget he's a relatively little toy. Be very careful with the clip-on turret missile launchers, the clip-on front bocage cutters, and the long, red projectile he fires. These parts are super easy for kids and adults alike to lose, and are such nice touches that you certainly won't want to. Hasbro was on the ball when they designed Brawls to transform without removing these parts. Also, his gun fires the projectile a few feet and you really can hit things, to the delight of children and yourself.
A note on pricing and value. I bought Brawls at my local Toys R Us for $9.99. That's right- $9.99. While he makes a cool collectible I doubt whether he'll hold his value over that in the near future, especially since I'd imagine Hasbro is quite likely to put out another production run given the success of the movie. How much you want to spend is up to one's your individual judgment but keep in mind that people are super-stoked about Transformers right now, and psychological considerations are probably driving up his and every other Trasformer's prices considerably.
A little loose in places...July 31, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Brawl & Jazz were the first two movie figures that I purchased. The immediate first impression was one of being quite surprised at the detail of the articulations (which number just over 30 in total!) and of the actual fit of the transformation. I am particularly pleased with the tank mode, but honestly, have found the robot to be quite poseable and nicely designed as well.
A number of common problems have arisen from the previous reviews, the most widespread of which are regarding the arms. My model fits allright once the back is in position - the arms do pop off if you grab the hands and move, but stay in position fine if held by one finger whilst manipulating.
For those who have trouble: I would recommend the well-known clear nail-polish trick - simply paint one layer of clear polish on one side of the tab (which inserts onto the torso) and it should make it more snug. Just repeat with more than one side if needed. BTW this is a universal trick for all Transformers - lots of parts are designed to pop off, and if any of these are too loose for liking, just apply this method as a nice fix!
I must agree with the other major gripe regarding the Automorph: mine's kinda stopped working, but since you can actually move the wheels into the shoulder position yourself, I haven't bothered trying to see how this can be fixed. Maybe when there's more time on hand...
The only other gripe is the scale: clearly completely out of scale with most of the other deluxe figures, although how they would solve this obviously problematic. The Leader Class Brawl that I've seen on some sites is probably quite appropriate in scale, though not something I'd comtemplate buying at this stage. FYI, the M1 Abrams (which is almost certainly the real-life basis for Brawl) is 32 feet long.
Overall, a fun Transformer that looks quite good, but has problems that detract it from being an otherwise excellent 'adult' toy.
his name is....Decepticon brawl????July 21, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Yeah, why he has Decepticon added to the name....really makes him menacing.
So to start off, cons. Two flaws in the build, first is that the main turrent folds down in a zee shape. But it doesn't lock, it's not the bad, espcialy if your like me and intended it to stay stationary. flaw number two is the arms, they can be hard to lock in place untill you push the back in, and the back locks together.
Highlights, the coloring is very nice, the head is fantastic.
the automorph feature is one of my personal faves. the cannon is a nice touch.
The images show both robot and vehicle mode (Earth Helicopter). The image of the robot mode shows that Megatron has decent articulation, but unlike the Leader Class version, his cannon cannot be attached to his forearm.

Seibertron.com Reviews Soon To Be Released Glu Mobile 'Tranformers: G1 Awakening' Game Thanks to staff member Stormrider, I was given the chance to make contact with a member of Glu mobile;#x2019;s PR staff, and was able to play a demo of the soon to be released ;#x2018;Transformers: G1 Awakening;#x2019; game for cellular phones. Glu Mobile was very kind and even sent me a compatible phone loaded with the game to play, as they do not currently have a version available for the iPhone.
I was able to spend about a week with the game, wasting many precious hours, staying up until the wee early hours of the morning as I played the addicting game, and tried to experience as much of it as I could before I had to send the demo back....
First off we have Stealth, err, Goldbug... I mean ELITE GUARD BUMBLEBEE by Tamo536. Straight up repaint of the Original Animated Bumblebee, but according to the reviewer the 'stingers' are now able to better fit into the arms...
And also a huge picture montage courtesy of the Japanese Transformers Image Board showing Sentinel in package, with other Elite Guard members, and with the Headmaster unit firmly placed on his shoulders.
Everybody should want to get Sentinel as soon as they can...
"Move bots or you'll have to do more transform ups!!!"
