Good but.June 26, 2007 The blaster mode is alright,the robot mode is great but for one thing...the green wings are just stupid looking, I dub it Megatron "The Gay gun" for that reason alone,of coarse IMO yellow or orange would be worse ...some of the color schemes they have been having lately are just stupid looking simply dark color themes that are pleasing to the eyes would go lot longer that the rainbow frill they been tossing on some of the figures, don;t get me wrong the purple is a perfect match megaton,it would have worked even if I never fallen in love with beast wars.
I plan on painting the wings black or white or purple maybe a off white purple might be to much for it...
Terrifying ideaMay 26, 2007 When I was a child all our toy guns looked realistic, but not any more. Probably a good thing. When I first saw this figure I was put off by the nerf gun design. After deciding to complete the Classics collection I had to pick up Megatron. I'm glad I did. The head sculpt is spot on. Now his alt mode, is what I believe to be truly terrifying. Instead of the intergalactic warlord death machine turning into a realisitc pistol he now hides amongst childrens foam dart launching toys, a meglomaniac warlord evil robot death machine plasma canon in the shape of a childs toy. Bravo!

I have this toy, and I wanted to say that I am glad that Megatron is a gun again, and I am not upset about the orange or purple. Hasbro had to meet specific legal requirements for a toy that resembles a gun and they did so with a minimal amount of uncharacteristic cheese.
That being said I also very much like his core robot mode. He is very menacing and his has very good poseability and balance. Also his transformation was the easiest one from any of the new Classics Transformers that I have yet to purchase.
My only gripe is really two part. One is his giant green wings. Megatron is a gun, not a bird and in this case not a jet place. He has no need of giant green wings. And they are described as "wings" on the packaging, although they really just look like the outside of the gun and not wings like those found on the much better conceived Classics Jetfire toy.
My second part of this complaint is that Megatron is not a true transformer. He is a glorified "Shell-Former." In case you have not heard the term before, a "shell-former" is a transformer toy in which the engineers took the easy way out, but hiding nearly all of the transformers robotic aspect behind large pieces of formed plastic. The Original Scourge and the Titanium edition Scourge is another example of a "shell-former."
When you pull apart the halfs of the gun shell, you see all the parts of Megatron fit together losely inside. It is easy to see where the parts go and form him into his robot mode and like I said his transformation was almost simplistic.
Also of all the transformers from the Transformers: Classics line this toy seems the least detailed. He has none of the original Megatron's chest detailing and none of the detailing you find on the other toys. I feel the lack of detail probably stems from the fact that most of the robot parts are hidden behind the plastic shells instead of viewable in both robot and vehicle mode like in the other toys. Its the vehicle details on a lot of the toys that make the robots look so good.
It saddens me that this toy was not as conceived as well as the rest of the toys in the Transformers: Classics line. Each one of them has been one of my favorites among my Transformer toys simply because of the incredible engineering put into them, that they transform so well, with so much detail and yet also are incredibly poseable.
Unfortunaly I find myself somewhat dissapointed with this figure from the Transformers: Classics line.

After all the years of seeing Megatron as everything from a tank to a dinosaur, it's good to finally see the Decepticon leader as a gun again like he should be, even if it's not the original gun version. The design is very well done in his gun and robot form and is reminiscent of classic G-1 look from the original cartoon series, especially with him having the cannon on his arm like the original. I'd even go so far as to say I like this Megatron figure better than the original one that came out in the 80s, which looked hideous in robot form unlike the cartoon.
This figure was slightly difficult to transform the first time around but it quickly got easier to do so, and I do wish his head was just a little bit bigger, but all in all this is a good purchase and a must have if you're a transformer collector.

Awesome. I've never owned a version of Megatron even though my allegance has always been with the decepticons since I've had intrest in the series. From the beggining my favorite has been starscream, I decided It was time to own a version of the strongest spark that can be found in cybertron. I never liked his Lugar versions from the first consepts, and Always thought it was just stupid that he could just change size when he became a robot in the show. This year's Megatron is one of the best transformers Ive got, and my favorite version of him yet [including his Galvatron"tank" alter-ego, and T-rex Beast forms] He transforms from a gun again, but this time its a big chunky blaster with a scope instead of a lugar as originally. this allows for a much better look in robot form, with good movement and well placed joints, which is often the biggest problem with transformers. It surprized me how evened out his robot form is as compared to how contorted it has to be to form his gun mode. The only unsymmetrical point is his Gun's Giant scope doubles as a Giant Blaster for him in Robot form, it's built into him so he's all one very nice and complex piece. The sides of the gun become his wings, which are a little too heavy for him to stand striaght up with,that was about my ONLY problem with it. If your one who likes to figure them out without the instructions first [like me] it was easy to form him to robot after a little thought, then I was clueless how to get him BACK to gun mode [had to peek at the instructions]. in all I say his robot form is much cooler But his gun mode feels a little more useful as a second toy then the other cars and jets, collector or just getting into the series, this is definitly one you'll enjoy.

Video Review of City Commander Upgrade Resident Transformer reviewer Peaugh has posted a nice, detailed review of the recently released City Commander upgrade set created for the Classics Universe Ultra Magnus figure.
The video goes in the great step by step detail on how to convert and attach the new addition along with nice video angles showing off the impressive attachments.
The images show both robot and vehicle mode (Earth Helicopter). The image of the robot mode shows that Megatron has decent articulation, but unlike the Leader Class version, his cannon cannot be attached to his forearm.

Seibertron.com Reviews Soon To Be Released Glu Mobile 'Tranformers: G1 Awakening' Game Thanks to staff member Stormrider, I was given the chance to make contact with a member of Glu mobile;#x2019;s PR staff, and was able to play a demo of the soon to be released ;#x2018;Transformers: G1 Awakening;#x2019; game for cellular phones. Glu Mobile was very kind and even sent me a compatible phone loaded with the game to play, as they do not currently have a version available for the iPhone.
I was able to spend about a week with the game, wasting many precious hours, staying up until the wee early hours of the morning as I played the addicting game, and tried to experience as much of it as I could before I had to send the demo back....
First off we have Stealth, err, Goldbug... I mean ELITE GUARD BUMBLEBEE by Tamo536. Straight up repaint of the Original Animated Bumblebee, but according to the reviewer the 'stingers' are now able to better fit into the arms...
And also a huge picture montage courtesy of the Japanese Transformers Image Board showing Sentinel in package, with other Elite Guard members, and with the Headmaster unit firmly placed on his shoulders.
Everybody should want to get Sentinel as soon as they can...

Video Review: McDonalds TFA Optimus Prime Resident Transformers video review master Sean Long has done it again. This time, Sean reviews the upcoming Mc Donald's Happy Meal bonus figure, Transformers Animated Optimus Prime. Sean gives us a good look at the figure, with comparison shots of it next to Movie Legends Optimus Prime, TFA Bumblebee, and TFA Deluxe Battle begins Optimus Prime.
This figure appears to be leaps and bounds better than previous Mc Donald's figures that were available in the past.

Transformers Animated Bulkhead - Video Review Sean Long has done a video review of Animated Transformers Bulkhead Leader class. The review shows the step by step transformation process and demonstrates the accessories. He also demonstrates the size comparison with Animated Bulkhead Voyager class.
New pics and a mini review of Transcanning BB by FatGuy Fatguy has updated his blog with new pics of his recently acquired Transcanning Bumblebee figure. Pics so BB in all modes including, Protoform, Robot and car modes. FatGuy says BB has great poseability, as does Transcanning OP previously mentioned here, and that Robot and Car modes look great.

Video Reviews - Universe Classics 2.0 Tankor & Animated Activator Starscream Sean Long has provided an in depth video review of Universe/ Classics 2.0 Tankor. Triple Changer Tankor (ahem...Octane) is a Deluxe figure and features two alternate modes - a military plane and refueling truck. He will be issued in colors that are similar to his G1 figure.

Transformers the Game sells 3.3 Million Nest-gen.biz reports that among the top 100 selling games of the past 12 months, Transformers the Game by Activision, ranks in at 16th overall with sales a 3.3 million copies to date.
Transformers the game is narrowly beaten by Spiderman 3, which was also made by Activision, with 3.4 million sales, WWE Smackdown VS Raw 2008 at 3.8 million and the number one selling game Call of Duty 4 at 8.4 million copies.
