Product Description
The Transformers Movie Leader Optimus Prime is ready to rule the universe. With this awesome Optimus Prime figure that features advanced Automorph technology. This Transformers technology is designed to enhance vehicle-to-robot conversion with partially animated mechanical triggers that activate the final shift to battle mode. See armor slide to protect vital points. Flip down the Ion Blaster in robot mode to launch the projectile. And press the button in vehicle mode for electronic horn sounds and lights. For thousands of years, Optimus Prime and His Autobots have traveled through space in search of the Allspark. For all that time, the Autobot leader has held one goal in mind to protect the universe from the evil of MEGATRON. For this massive, metal warrior, nothing is more important than freedom; he will sacrifice all for its preservation. He has fought for centuries, modifying his body into an unstoppable war machine, preparing for that day he knows is coming when he and Megatron meet for one final battle.

5 out of 5 stars It's something your kids can spend a lot of time playing with   November 16, 2008
After reading the reviews, I got the impression that this toy looks good in robot and truck mode. I was not disappointed. Once I got it out of the package, which was not easy, my 11 year old son took it. He pulled things in different directions for about 20 seconds, decided that things were complicated, and he wanted to look for an on-line tutorial. He has an older transformer that is relatively complex, and I was never able to figure that one out. We expected this to be tougher, so I wasn't surprised that he did not dive into it.

I glanced at the instructions and could not make sense of them. Perhaps it was because I did not start out as in the beginning picture. But I tend to be good with "picture only" instructions, and this one will not act as a simple "how to" guide. After playing around with it for a while, I found that it was not as tough as I expected. My son said that since it took me about 15 to 20 minutes, it could not be so bad. He decided to do it on his own and had a lot of fun with it.

After you do it a couple of times, it might not take more than 5-6 minutes to become a truck, but it is still intricate enough that it will not be boring for a child. It's not something that will get cast aside after a few days. Turning it into a robot is relatively trivial. If you merely pull everything outwards, it becomes self evident fairly quickly. But there will still be a few stumbling blocks, especially the first few times, and there will be a few things that won't be quite right without a little work.

I would not recommend it for a five year old, or for anybody who tends not to be good at puzzles or similar toys. But if experience tells you that you are ready for it, or if you don't mind a good challenge, you end up with an impressive looking robot and truck. If you make sure that the child's expectations are set correctly, it can be good for a variety of skill levels. Let them know that it will take time to figure out, but it will be fun trying to do it.

One con is that it does not have much ground clearance as a truck. Pushing it along a sidewalk could scrape up the joint in the middle of the bottom. For indoor play, it should withstand more roughness.

Transforming it is like playing with a Rubik's cube. It's tough at first, you can eventually get it down to a few minutes, and you will probably get bored with it once it becomes easy. The difference is that your child won't need to keep transforming it, since the goal is creating a toy, not solving a puzzle. Both the truck and robot are fun for a child to play with.

There are different versions of this, so do a search on amazon before you buy it. Mine came with an extra two small figures, and cost less than buying Optimus Prime alone. But prices can fluctuate daily.

5 out of 5 stars He is Otimus Prime   October 4, 2008
I bought this product from a local store and i have to say that it is one of the best Optimus Prime figures i'v ever seen, the transformation from truck to robot leader is kinda hard, but once you get used to it, it gets easier. Th one i got has the blaster, i would have liked the sword but the blaster is fun when you use it to shoot other figures or your annoying cat. It's not really for younger kida, esspically since it is kind hard to transform, but if your older person and kid at heart, get it, esspically if your a fan of Transformers, wether it be the comic, tv show, or movie.

5 out of 5 stars make a birthday boy very happy   June 1, 2008
I bought this as a gift for a dear friend in Hungary. He LOVES it, partly because it's American and partly because he's the envy of his friends and partly because he loves transforming it.

1 out of 5 stars Blasphemy rendered in cheap plastic form.   April 29, 2008
1 out of 3 found this review helpful

sorry, but speaking as a REAL transformers fan(meaning, a fan of the ORIGINAL 80's tv show and toys), all i can say is that this is a pathetic hunk of cheap-a$$ plastic. And as i've stated in the title, it's downright BLASPHEMY just what Hollywood has done to this once-hallowed toyline in this so-called "brave new millenium". Hey, rate this piece of junk and all its related items/entries as high as you want, but don't dare try to pass yourself off as a real TF fan. And that's all I care to say on that subject. Discussion closed.

5 out of 5 stars Great toy from Hasbro   April 22, 2008
I got this product for my son for his 5th B'day and he loved it. The tough part came when I started transforming it to a Prime mover. Man, that took us about 3 hours, even with the instructions. But once you've done it once its quite easy the next time. Me and my wife did the transformation for our son.

But I must insist, its a clever design and I and my son love it. Some people who saw it, loved it.

It does balance well when standing. Its looks great in the truck mode.
It is a very hardy toy and does not break easily.

All in all I think its one of the best toys but more as a collectable. Kids will love it if they love Transformers.

Thanks to Hasbros for the creativity again.

New images of the soon to be released Transformers: Animated Activator Megatron have been posted on tf08.net.

Seibertron.com Reviews Soon To Be Released Glu Mobile 'Tranformers: G1 Awakening' Game
Thanks to staff member Stormrider, I was given the chance to make contact with a member of Glu mobile;#x2019;s PR staff, and was able to play a demo of the soon to be released ;#x2018;Transformers: G1 Awakening;#x2019; game for cellular phones. Glu Mobile was very kind and even sent me a compatible phone loaded with the game to play, as they do not currently have a version available for the iPhone.

I was able to spend about a week with the game, wasting many precious hours, staying up until the wee early hours of the morning as I played the addicting game, and tried to experience as much of it as I could before I had to send the demo back....

First off we have Stealth, err, Goldbug... I mean ELITE GUARD BUMBLEBEE by Tamo536. Straight up repaint of the Original Animated Bumblebee, but according to the reviewer the 'stingers' are now able to better fit into the arms...
