Product Description
Name: Megatron
Manufacturer: Hasbro
Series: Transformers More Than Meets the Eye Classics
Release Date: November 2006
Details (Description): MEGATRON is the most feared and powerful leader in the history of CYBERTRON. His might is legendary, and his name is spoken only in whispers. He will stop at nothing in his drive to conquer the universe. So great is his will to power that even his own followers are little more to him than fuel for his war machine, and his enemies are less than the dust he grinds beneath his heel. He is always at the front of any DECEPTICON charge, soaring into the sky and vaporizing enemy positions with his anti-proton pulse cannon. The mere sight of his snarling face is enough to break the spirit of many an AUTOBOT.

5 out of 5 stars Nice   September 24, 2008
Very nice figure. Closest thing we have had to a G1 Megatron aside from the Masterpice.

3 out of 5 stars Good toy, but not a great one   April 18, 2008
I was so excited when I caught sight of this toy in the local toy store... finally, Megatron back as a gun. I've never been a fan of the tank, dinosaur, drag racer, alien jet, etc, etc modes that they've come up for the Decepticon leader but the gun transformation from G1 is what Megatron is best suited for.

Course, this gun mode looks pretty kiddish, but I didn't intend to keep him in gun mode anyway. I loved the robot-mode's look from the packaging and I decided I would keep him in that most of the time.

I'm pretty happy with the figure but a couple of things get on my nerves:-

- You can't move the arms or legs without 'em making a 'click-clack' sound. The slightest movement does not come silently. This is the first TF toy I've got (and I have Classics, Cybertron & Movie lines) that makes noises as you try to pose it.
- The position of the legs is such that Megatron is either standing with his chest 'puffed out' and looking up at the sky, or is stooping. Difficult to get the correct posture.
- When you remove the head from the chest compartment, the head sticks out a little too much, showing a 'neck', between the head and the ball-joint. It has a very ugly effect on Megatron, since he doesn't have a neck. I worked around this by not pulling the head out completly from its compartment and just pointing the head upwards a bit, so that the neck is covered and he's still facing straight.

Other than these quibbles, I think it's a great toy. Of course, I wish the colorings were different and I saw pictures of the Takara variant of the same toy and it's a lot more true to Megatron. I'm planning of doing a re-paint.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome update of a true classic.   November 21, 2007
One of the best of the classic's line. I think my favorite thing about this toy is how it transforms. When I first saw it I couldn't see how the gun and robot modes were one and the same. It really is a marvalous feat of toy engineering. Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Megatron still ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   August 7, 2007
This is the 1st new "GUN" Megatron I've ever seen! (Galvatron doesn't count)The Transformers "Classic Deluxe" is the greatest thing to happen to Transformers for a long time. "Beast Wars"? Not diggin' it.

4 out of 5 stars Durable and complex in a good way   June 29, 2007
We bought this for our 6 year old son and it greatly improved father-son bonding as he couldn't figure out how to get it back to pistol mode on his own. After school, he would be come back with the toy in robot mode and hand it to me to transform it back. He took comfort in the fact that his mother couldn't figure it out either. Therein lies the educational value. It takes a lot of 3D visualization to figure out how to transform this thing. I sat a table of four adults and they couldn't figure it out either.

It's also very durable as it has been lent to my son's friends and has come back unscathed. Perhaps because it's a bad guy and bad weeds are hard to kill.

The gun mode clicks fine and the telescope (or viewfinder) is pretty cool, too. OK, the wings are everything but aerodinamic, but then again, it's just a toy and a recommendable one.

More Images of TF :Animated Activator Megatron
New images of the soon to be released Transformers: Animated Activator Megatron have been posted on tf08.net.

The images show both robot and vehicle mode (Earth Helicopter). The image of the robot mode shows that Megatron has decent articulation, but unlike the Leader Class version, his cannon cannot be attached to his forearm.

Seibertron.com Reviews Soon To Be Released Glu Mobile 'Tranformers: G1 Awakening' Game
Thanks to staff member Stormrider, I was given the chance to make contact with a member of Glu mobile;#x2019;s PR staff, and was able to play a demo of the soon to be released ;#x2018;Transformers: G1 Awakening;#x2019; game for cellular phones. Glu Mobile was very kind and even sent me a compatible phone loaded with the game to play, as they do not currently have a version available for the iPhone.

I was able to spend about a week with the game, wasting many precious hours, staying up until the wee early hours of the morning as I played the addicting game, and tried to experience as much of it as I could before I had to send the demo back....

A couple of TF fans have decided to share a bit more with the TF community.

First off we have Stealth, err, Goldbug... I mean ELITE GUARD BUMBLEBEE by Tamo536. Straight up repaint of the Original Animated Bumblebee, but according to the reviewer the 'stingers' are now able to better fit into the arms...

And also a huge picture montage courtesy of the Japanese Transformers Image Board showing Sentinel in package, with other Elite Guard members, and with the Headmaster unit firmly placed on his shoulders.

Everybody should want to get Sentinel as soon as they can...
