Size not as it appears - no descriptionApril 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
There was no description of the dimensions of this item. We thought it was about twice the size. Transformers for this price usually are. This was misleading not to make the size available. Most online stores provide descriptions that include dimensions. Why not Game City? We will not repeat business with Game City again. Amazon needs to address this issue with its 3rd party vendors. Amazon is ultimately responsible. http://www.amazon.com/Transformers-Deluxe-Classic-Bumblebee-Figure/dp/B000EUKRV8/ref=pd_ts_t_21?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games
I paid how much for this thing??September 14, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Out of all fairness on my ratings, I don't know how durable it is and how much fun it is, but worth fifty bucks it is not. I expected it to be at least twice as big as it is. It is very small for the price. Not a happy parent.
Not more, nor less accurate than his original cartoon appearance.January 12, 2007 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
A lot of people are complaining that Bumblebee is no longer a VW Bug. Hasbro has liscencing reasons why they chose not to use that car, but at the same time they could have chosen not to re-release this character as a new, highly poseable toy too, so don't complain too loudly...
Anyway, yes this car no longer looks like a Bug, but having said that, the original toy was a lot smaller and didn't actually look like the cartoon character either. This version of the toy is very well made and the headsculpt is nearly a perfect match for what we all saw in the original cartoons. He has door shields, just like the new Optimus, but in Bumblebees case I feel that they were better done, since Optimus's kind of flop around when you move his arms. Bumblebees do not. They lock into place and are very solidly stuck to his arms in robot mode.
My few complaints, and the reasons I didn't give this toy 5 stars is that instead of a fun, he comes with a silly "waverunner on a trailer." I don't know whose idea this was, but the trailer/waverunner really feel like an afterthought for the toy. More like a "gee this toy needs an accessory" type of addition than something really thought through. The quality of the plastic and paint in the wave runner is not in the same class as the quality of the Bumblebee figure and the area where it hooks onto the car just look awkward overall. Like someone else mentioned he really should have just come with a gun.
My second complaint is his "knees" which are formed by the two front seats inside the car. It is really great that the car has front seats as that adds an additional detail which makes the vehicle mode look great. However the flaps above the feet on my toy tend to get caught under the seats when posing, making it occasionally irratating to move the legs and making me worry I might chip the paint of the leg or the seat. Its a minor thing but it coulda been fixed by just making the seat slightly shorter.
All in all I am very happy with this toy, its a great addition and puts the original Bumblebee to shame.
BumbleBee Rox in 2006December 24, 2006 Most Old Skool fans are angry he's not a VW Beetle anymore. I kinda never liked beetles anyway, so Im happy with the new unlicenced thing. It looks like a mix of a MINI and a Peugeot. He transforms better than most, the picture does'nt do him justice, it makes him look stiff. Actually, for how bulky he is, he's amazingly bendable, I particularly like that his "door/shields" are'nt attached to his arm, their on a cuffling that rotates so they wont be too awkward like many of the others with "door/shields". The Jetski Jetpack adds an unneeded extra flair to an already awesome robo mode. And as an extra retro touch It has a tempurture sensitive decal on his chest/top of the car that must be held for a minute before it will reveal the autobot logo [just like his original 80s version]. I DO wish he had come with some sort of weapon, but I have a few other transformers from this same generation that don't really need BOTH that THEY came with. What's even MORE awesome for me is that I bought this at the grocery store, as one of the very few toys they had in thier christmas section, for $10 if your looking for just any ONE good transformer, bumblebee is a good choice. If you have Optimus, this one looks great standing beside him. Transformer fans Don't Delay, pick this one up! I can't wait to see movie's camaro bumblebee in july.
Pretty cool once you get over the "Bug" issueOctober 23, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I'm gearing this review mostly to people who grew up with Transformers in the 1980's and would either like to relive their memories or introduce their kids to the same things they enjoyed. If you're not familar with the original Bumblebee character or toy, then in a nutshell I'll say "Yes, it's cool, and your kids will like it!"
Okay, now for the old school fans...
As another reviewer mentions, Volkswagen will no longer allow Hasbro to produce toy molds in the likeness of their cars, because they don't want their vehicles to be thought of as "war toys".
When a lot of Transformers fans heard that a new Bumblebee figure was going to be released as something other than a VW Bug, they shuddered. I was one of them.
However, this figure really won me over. The car mode was so-so, I'll admit. It's not only not a Bug, it's not any "real-life" car. I also didn't like all the white on it because I'm used to Bumblebee being all yellow in vehicle form. I'm also not a big fan of the trailer/wave crusher. I don't think it adds anything because while it transforms into a jetpack, it takes 3 years to change it over to jetpac and as a trailer, doesn't seem to stay on the hitch well.
On the other hand, the robot form is out of this world. This is Bumblebee how long-time fans always hoped he'd be as a toy. He's very posable and a lot of fun. He bends all over the place, and you can twist and flex his legs and arms into all sorts of positions.
Either way, I think he's a good buy, whether it be for sentimental purposes or for your kids to play with.

Video Review of City Commander Upgrade Resident Transformer reviewer Peaugh has posted a nice, detailed review of the recently released City Commander upgrade set created for the Classics Universe Ultra Magnus figure.
The video goes in the great step by step detail on how to convert and attach the new addition along with nice video angles showing off the impressive attachments.
The images show both robot and vehicle mode (Earth Helicopter). The image of the robot mode shows that Megatron has decent articulation, but unlike the Leader Class version, his cannon cannot be attached to his forearm.

Seibertron.com Reviews Soon To Be Released Glu Mobile 'Tranformers: G1 Awakening' Game Thanks to staff member Stormrider, I was given the chance to make contact with a member of Glu mobile;#x2019;s PR staff, and was able to play a demo of the soon to be released ;#x2018;Transformers: G1 Awakening;#x2019; game for cellular phones. Glu Mobile was very kind and even sent me a compatible phone loaded with the game to play, as they do not currently have a version available for the iPhone.
I was able to spend about a week with the game, wasting many precious hours, staying up until the wee early hours of the morning as I played the addicting game, and tried to experience as much of it as I could before I had to send the demo back....
First off we have Stealth, err, Goldbug... I mean ELITE GUARD BUMBLEBEE by Tamo536. Straight up repaint of the Original Animated Bumblebee, but according to the reviewer the 'stingers' are now able to better fit into the arms...
And also a huge picture montage courtesy of the Japanese Transformers Image Board showing Sentinel in package, with other Elite Guard members, and with the Headmaster unit firmly placed on his shoulders.
Everybody should want to get Sentinel as soon as they can...
