Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Name: Astrotrain
Manufacturer: Hasbro
Series: Transformers More Than Meets the Eye Classics
Release Date: November 2006
Details (Description): ASTROTRAIN thrives on panic and fear. Though he is mainly used as a transport vehicle for moving warriors and supplies, he only truly feels at home pounding AUTOBOT warriors into scrap metal. His ionic displacer rifle can scramble AUTOBOT sensors, causing confusion in the enemy ranks, and his huge bulk casts a terrifying shadow across a battlefield. Those AUTOBOTS who survive a fight with ASTROTRAIN often need only hear the echoing boom of his engines in the distance to once again quake in fear.

4 out of 5 stars cheap made product   November 21, 2007
It has only 40% similarity with the figure in the cartoon. I still remember 15 years ago, the Astrotrain toy is better made than this.

3 out of 5 stars Bad classic remake.   November 21, 2007
This toy has three modes. The best I think is the space shuttle mode. The train mode is hideous and looks like it wasn't very well thought out. The robot is alright. In the robot mode the forearms have to stay bent of the two shuttle halves easily cover them back up. The legs are kinda of wobbly. I was expecting something more.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic Classic   October 5, 2007
I haven't gotten the chance to open the toy yet since I bought it for my little brother, but if it's anything like the original from the 80s, I probably will be quite pleased. I got my little brother the Classic Starscream and we had no complaints, he LOVED the toy (since he's watched the original transformers animated movie 100 times). The transformer toys nowdays are so complicated and retarded they defeat the purpose of "playing." It ends up being more of a puzzle for kids to transform, not simple and fun like the toys we grew up with in the 80s.

5 out of 5 stars Nice toy & as expected   October 4, 2007
My 6 year old son got this Transformer with his birthday money. It does just what it is supposed to (including popping apart if moved the wrong way). He has some trouble getting the configurations just right, but he's memorizing it. Also, he can't reattach the pieces when they pop off. This is a great toy though, and my son (and my husband) enjoys playing with and transforming it.

4 out of 5 stars a new old favorite   August 9, 2007
First of all, I'll start by saying my favorite Transformer of all time from the series (I grew up with the G2 incarnation) was Astrotrain. Not only was he a triple changer, meaning there were three times the way he could transform, but both of his alternate modes were cool and fairly unique.

The bad: there are copious amounts of kibble (extant parts of other modes) in each of its modes. Shuttle mode has two halves of a locomotive on either side of it and a robot waist near the engine, robot mode has those locomotive halves mostly blocking its hands, and train mode barely resembles as a train--half of it is very obviously the shuttle, upside-down. Durability-wise, the tail fin seems flimsy, and the arms tend to pop out of their sockets, though they're easy to pop back in.

The good: you get not just a Transformer, but a triple changer for 10 bucks... I wish Chinese labor was this cheap when I was a kid. Robot mode is fully articulate, and Astrotrain, as a whole, is large and quite complex, considering what you pay for it. The robot also has a sizable footprint, which allows it to stand on almost any level surface, including carpet.

Overall, I'd say Astrotrain is well worth the price.

More Images of TF :Animated Activator Megatron
New images of the soon to be released Transformers: Animated Activator Megatron have been posted on tf08.net.

The images show both robot and vehicle mode (Earth Helicopter). The image of the robot mode shows that Megatron has decent articulation, but unlike the Leader Class version, his cannon cannot be attached to his forearm.

Seibertron.com Reviews Soon To Be Released Glu Mobile 'Tranformers: G1 Awakening' Game
Thanks to staff member Stormrider, I was given the chance to make contact with a member of Glu mobile;#x2019;s PR staff, and was able to play a demo of the soon to be released ;#x2018;Transformers: G1 Awakening;#x2019; game for cellular phones. Glu Mobile was very kind and even sent me a compatible phone loaded with the game to play, as they do not currently have a version available for the iPhone.

I was able to spend about a week with the game, wasting many precious hours, staying up until the wee early hours of the morning as I played the addicting game, and tried to experience as much of it as I could before I had to send the demo back....

New pics: Elite Guard Bumblebee And Sentinel Prime!
A couple of TF fans have decided to share a bit more with the TF community.

First off we have Stealth, err, Goldbug... I mean ELITE GUARD BUMBLEBEE by Tamo536. Straight up repaint of the Original Animated Bumblebee, but according to the reviewer the 'stingers' are now able to better fit into the arms...

And also a huge picture montage courtesy of the Japanese Transformers Image Board showing Sentinel in package, with other Elite Guard members, and with the Headmaster unit firmly placed on his shoulders.

Everybody should want to get Sentinel as soon as they can...
